There are few things on this earth as singularly majestic* as watching a war tortoise in action. Swooping into battle, sometimes, at speeds nearing 0.48 km (.30 mph)**, the war tortoise makes for a fearsome foe,... eventually.
Tales of their loyalty are legendary. Making their way across thousands of miles to return home, or strolling into burning buildings to rescue those trapped inside. (Sadly, since the top speed of a tortoise is rather less than the top speed of a burning building, so, those latter stories rarely have happy endings, but everybody agrees that it's a really first rate effort on the part of the loyal tortoise.)
Though the war cry may leave something to be desired, and they can be difficult to house break, the war tortoise makes for a fine companion and fellow comrade.
